Last Saturday C4C held it’s 5th Annual UIC-C4C Community Day Basketball Game. This was an excellent opportunity to come out and cheer on the UIC Flames men’s basketball team and enjoy an afternoon also honoring one of our very own, University Village resident Mary Vega, for her commitment to our community.  Mary has a very strong connection to our community as she is our CAPS Facilitator for Beat 1232 for approximately the last 10 years, a member of the Chicago Police Department 12th District Advisory Committee, works with the UIC police and was influential factor in the decision-making of UIC police sergeants.  She also is the president of the University Village Condo Association, on the board of directors for the University Village Homeowner’s Association and a member of the University Village Neighborhood Alliance.

Alderman Patrick Thompson has made a resolution in honor of Mary. It was adopted by The City Council of Chicago.

We are thrilled to have Mary as a part of our community and thank her immensely for what she continues to do.
