UIC’s Office of Sustainability wants your personal electronic waste and pedestrian and cyclist feedback

The UIC’s Office of Sustainability has partnered with VetTech.US and with the brothers of the UIC chapter of Zeta Psi fraternity to organize an electronic waste collection for Earth Month (details here). VetTech trains veterans for IT certification and careers and the personal electronics waste that is collected for recycling – which can no longer by law be disposed of in landfills – helps to fund veteran training. When possible, VetTech refurbishes older electronics and donates them to community and charitable organizations in need. Chiarugi Hardware Store at 1412 W. Taylor will accept old cell phones during the month of April for this effort.

UIC’s Office of Sustainability would also like feedback from community residents about information the office recently collected about pedestrian and cyclist use of pathways on the UIC east campus so that they can use that feedback to think strategically about future planning of the campus and how it integrates and interacts with our community. Please complete the form below if you would like to participate.
