A Holiday Giving Project

Do you have a Holiday Project in your neighborhood?  Please let us know and send to nancyplax@c4-c.org

Here is what is happening at University Commons!

Greetings neighbors,

As the holidays approach, we invite you to help make the season a bit brighter for some local families in need — through the UC Kids’ Holiday Giving Project.

The community response to last year’s project was truly inspiring. More than 150 toys, warm coats and bedding, and sets of clothing were collected and wrapped, then delivered at a family holiday event. The happy faces of children and adults alike were priceless. This year, we’re aiming even higher by fulfilling the wishes of 30 needy families in partnership with our neighborhood school, Smyth Elementary.

The bulletin board containing families’ holiday wishes is now up in the lobby of the University Commons management office (SW corner of 14th Pl and Morgan).  Please stop by to choose an item and sign up. (The office is open from 9:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. Mon-Sat; it will be closed on Thanksgiving and the following day.)

Gift dropoff will be held Sunday, Dec. 7th from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the management office. We’re happy to arrange a pickup prior to the dropoff date if you can’t make it. Questions can be directed to Kate Tormey (kathryntormey@gmail.com) or Molly McGowan (mollymeade12@gmail.com).

Thank you to all who help make the Holiday Giving Project a success. The need is so great throughout our neighborhood — but so is compassion and generosity.

Happy holidays!
