Connecting4Communites (C4C) invites everyone to join them at the 3rd annual UIC Community Day Basketball Game on Saturday, February 1st at 3 pm at the UIC Pavilion, 525 S Racine. Come on over and cheer the UIC Flames vs. Valparaiso.
UIC and C4C will be honoring Dr. Ron Whitmore, Principal of Smyth Elementary School, for his and his faculty’s work to build a strong partnership with the Illinois Math & Science Academy (IMSA) and to expand Smyth’s long time relationship with UIC’s College of Education with a reading initiative developed by the UIC College of Education and Dean Alfred Tatum. IMSA will enhance and provide opportunities for advanced exposure to the Smyth teachers for professional development as well as a Saturday school initiative for students who have shown exceptional interest in math and science.
This is a very friendly family event and loads of fun. Tickets are $5 and children under 3 are free. Parking is available for $5. Walk over or take a bus to Racine/Harrison. What a great way to spend a winter Saturday afternoon..
