Illinois Math & Science Academy-Smyth partnership and Central City High School update

We owe our new Illinois State Senator Patricia Van Pelt, (D) 5th Senate District, and her colleague in the Illinois House of Representatives, Ken Dunkin, (D) 5th Representative District, a tremendous debt of gratitude for their leadership in obtaining a $400,000 appropriation for a partnership between the prestigious Illinois Math and Science Academy and the John M. Smyth Elementary School. This appropriation and the partnership it supports will substantially advance the work of Smyth Principal, Dr. Ron Whitmore, and his team at the school, working in conjunction with C4C, to make Smyth one of the best, most exciting elementary schools in Chicago.

We recently presented our C4C Central City High School Proposal to parents at Skinner West Elementary School in the West Loop. The presentation contains the design and images that a talented University of Notre Dame graduating architecture student designed for his senior thesis project located in a part of Roosevelt Square near St. Ignatius College Prep. and the John M. Smyth Elementary School near Roosevelt Road and Blue Island Avenue. Our last presentation of our high school before the school year ends will be in the South Loop at Columbia College on Tuesday, June 4th at 618 S. Michigan Avenue, 2nd Floor, Stage 2 Center beginning at 6:30 p.m.
