Did you know that right in our neighborhood is the Provision Theater? It is at the corner of Roosevelt and Morgan, housed in the same building as the Gilchrist-Marchman Child Development Center.
Join us on Saturday, June 8th, at 8 pm, for a community night performance of the World Premier Adaptation of Edgar Lee Masters’ Classic Work…SPOON RIVER ANTHOLOGY.
This exciting new theatrical adaptation of Edgar Lee Masters’ poetry explores the accounts of a fictional town’s triumphs and failures, and loves and losses based on the epitaphs from the town’s gravestones. Don’t miss this astonishingly stirring and emotionally satisfying offering. The dead, “sleeping on the hill” in their village cemetery, return to tell about their lives: tales of war, poverty, religion, and marriage among many other themes in this gossipy detail of middle America in the early 20th century.
There is a 10% discount for all community members for this June 8th performance. Tickets are $28.80 (regular $32) and can be purchased directly at http://www.provisiontheater.org/tickets.htm NOTE you must use code C4Cnight or you can call 312.455.0066. This discount is good for only the June 8th performance. The theater is located at 1001 W. Roosevelt. Parking is FREE and you enter on Morgan.
